Headlining today’s post … new triptych mural by Nether in support of Baltimore Rising at MICA
The Maryland Institute College of Arts is hosting Baltimore Rising, an art exhibit and roundtable discussion which explore the issues that focused the country’s attention on our city during the aftermath of Freddie Gray’s in April, 2015.
This week, in conjunction with Baltimore Rising, Nether put the finishing brush strokes on a new triptych in the Station North Arts District. The left panel shows Kevin Moore who photographed the arrest of Freddie Gray; the middle panel a videorecorder; and, the right-side panel shows Ramsey Ortiz who filmed the arrest of Eric Garner. The images below show the progress of Nether’s mural from start to finish.

The new mural panels begin to take shape.
