Headlining today’s post … mural by Mateu Velasco
After painting a stunning 100+ foot long mural in the Annapolis Design District, Mateu Velasco fashioned an eye-catching graphic mural for Section 1 Project. Roberta Pardo of Urban Walls Brazil collaborated with Richard Best of Section 1 Project to curate this latest mural at the Section 1 Project Creative Labs in Clipper Mill.
Using only black and white paint, Velasco created a fanciful dreamscape. A coyote floats upside down, past a bright full moon, toward a lush bed of wetland fronds, mushrooms, and underwater plants while a sea nettle drifts serenely along. The café au lait color of the building makes the black and white mural pop out from the wall. Charm City Streets was fortunate to capture Mateu Velasco in action over a two day period.
