Headlining today’s post … Gaia’s mural for Open Walls Baltimore 2014

Based on the success of the 2012 Open Walls Baltimore public art project, Station North Arts & Entertainment Inc. kicked off Open Walls Baltimore 2 this month. Renowned local artist Gaia will curate this large mural project that features 15 exceptional artists from around Baltimore, the USA, Europe, and South America. They include: Gaia, Nanook, Logan Hicks (New York), LNY (New York), Jessie Unterhalter & Katey Truhn, Ozmo (Italy), El Decertor (Peru), Betsy Casanas (Philadelphia), Escif (Spain), Ernest Shaw Jr (Baltimore), Zbiok (Poland), ECB (Germany), Santuu Mustonen (Finland), and Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez (Baltimore). Each mural will tell a visual story about the Station North community.

The artists have been tasked with creating murals that inform the viewer about the Station North community … its history, people, and traditions.  Gaia’s mural Frontiers is the first of the OWB 2014 murals.
