A quarter century of Non Stop Funk is quite the accomplishment; so renowned Bmore writers Arek and Stab decided to celebrate this milestone NSF Crew anniversary. Thanks to generous support from The Loading Dock, Inc. and Spray Planet by Montana Cans, the Bricks, Brews & Crews Paint Jam this past weekend was a spray-tacular success.
What did 45 do now? What’s the latest political uproar? Does this have anything to do with b-ball? None of the above. We are talking about the tantalizing scent of aerosol paint wafting over Northeast DC for the past two weekends.
Acclaimed writers from Baltimore, DC, and environs gathered for a paint jam at the ginormous wall behind Forman Mills on Rhode Island Ave NE. Highly respected crews such as FGS, HOD, KPG, NSF, PA, TGE and others were well represented.
This past Sunday, in cooperation with MidCity Development and Recreative Spaces, Words Beats & Life hosted a live paint jam in Northeast DC. Entitled Roll Down Get Down the paint jam redecorated the metal gates covering the storefronts at 1301 Rhode Island Ave NE. The event featured prominent graff writers and street artists from DC, Maryland, and Virginia; plus live music and a vendor bazaar.
On Saturday April 30th, the artist collective Albus Cavus joined forces with Words Beats & Life Inc. to present the annual Fine Lines Paint Jam in Northeast DC. Top graff writers and street artists from the Baltimore/DC Metropolitan Area and beyond painted live throughout the day-long event and covered the 900 foot-long wall with incredible artwork.
