Headlining today’s post … the legendary Ichabod

Ichabod is the acknowledged maestro of freight car graffiti, and one can see his signature crumble and tumble pieces riding the rails all across the nation. Thus, it was a stand-out thrill for me to catch the legendary Ich in action at Bricks, Brews & Crews … and to add a limited edition piece of his to my personal art collection.

The flurry of incredible artwork in Graffiti Alley continued unabated this month. Ernest Shaw Jr. painted a stunning tribute to Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, and to John Coltrane, the ever remarkable jazz saxophonist. Megan Lewis created two more beautiful murals in her #blkwomen series next to which Ernest painted a stern-looking portrait of Pablo Picasso. Headlining today’s post … Artful Abandonment – a Civic Works Project by artist Adam Stab

Street artists Mateus Bailon, Richard Best, John Gingrich, and Stefan Ways created large-scale murals at Section 1 Project’s Creative Labs in the Clipper Mill Industrial Park. Shiva, a 3D anaglyphic collaboration by Richard Best and John Gingrich; Reclaim, Remain Antman by Stefan Ways; and, dueling waterfowl by Mateus Bailon of Urban Walls Brazil.
