Brazilian artist Mundano was in Baltimore for last week’s Red Bull Amaphiko Festival. Thanks to the teamwork of Creative Labs Baltimore and Urban Walls Brazil, Mundano created a large scale mural in Clipper Mill.
A few days ago, Charm City Streets took you on an extended tour of Jersey Fresh Jam 2017, New Jersey’s premiere Hip Hop Festival. Today we return to Trenton to watch Damien Mitchell lighting up a wall at Jersey Fresh Jam.
Legendary – that single word is the appropriate way to describe Jersey Fresh Jam 2017 which Charm City Streets attended this past weekend. Jersey Fresh Jam is New Jersey’s premiere Hip Hop Festival. Each year artists, DJs, graff writers and musicians from up and down the Mid-Atlantic come together in Trenton to celebrate Hip Hop culture. Richmond is a great place to visit: magnificent architecture, delicious restaurants to suit every palate, easy to navigate and walk about, welcoming atmosphere, a noteworthy mile-long canal park, and it is only a 3 hour drive from Baltimore. All in all it is an ideal weekend destination.
While driving the other day along North Howard Street near the armory, I suddenly heard Tweedy Bird saying: I tawt I taw a puddy tat! I did! In a recent peer reviewed article in Squirrelly Scientific Amurican, scientists concerned about graffiti’s impact on global warming requested the public’s assistance with their investigation. Alarmed by all the dire warnings, Charm City Streets submitted documentation to these scientists. You need not file a Freedom of Information Act request to review this documentation. Charm City Streets now openly shares its information with you.

Recently, my grandchildren were in town for a visit. They live in Seattle so I do not get to see them as often enough as I would like, so over the past three+ weeks I placed pretty much everything on the back burner. Now that they are back home I have completed processing the rest of the images I captured during the two weeks I spent last month in Brooklyn and Williamsburg.
The J, M and Z metro lines run on elevated tracks above Broadway in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood. Walking along Broadway and its side streets last month, Charm City Streets encountered a collection of fascinating murals and dope graffiti.
