WARNER STREET MURAL PROJECT – Richard Best

The day dawns on the completed Warner Street Mural

Headlining today’s post … the completed Warner Street Mural by Richard Best, Pablo Machioli, Jessie Unterhalter & Katey Truhn, and Stefan Ways

Prior to the grand opening of the new Horseshoe Casino, the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts selected five Baltimore artists to beautify the warehouses near the casino.

It was a huge project. Richard Best, Pablo Machioli, and Stefan Ways painted a mural that wraps around two sides of a three-story warehouse. The mural features a block-long 3-D hand by Richard Best that tugs at the South American mountain scene painted by Pablo Machioli. On the corner of the warehouse, Stefan Ways created a Baltimore oriole nest. See if you can identify the various bits of Baltimore memorabilia Stefan incorporated into the mural.

Jessie Unterhalter and Katey Truhn completed the second half of the Warner Street Mural Project. They painted a colorful, pattern-rich abstract which not only covers a block-long one story warehouse but spills down and across the sidewalk.

Next time you plan to try your luck at the Horseshoe Casino or take in a Ravens game at M&T Stadium be sure to check out the nearby Warner Street Mural.
